Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
“The Canadian experience Class (CEC) is a permanent residence category for people with skilled work experience in Canada. It was developed for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates with qualifying Canadian work experience”-IRCC. To be eligible for this program, your work experience must be in the below NOCS
- Managerial jobs (NOC skill level 0)
- Professional jobs (NOC skill level A)
- Technical and skilled trades jobs (NOC skill level B)
This program has proven to be of tremendous benefit to international graduates in Canada who want to become permanent residents. For many of them, CEC could be the fastest and most convenient route to become a permanent resident of Canada. If you have Canadian experience but living outside of Canada, you can still apply if you are within 3 years of living your job in Canada.
Minimum Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of full-time or 2 years of part-time work experience in NOC 0, A or B within the 3 years before applying,
- Must attain required language levels in the language proficiency test,
- Plan to reside outside Quebec.
Notes:
Work experience obtained while enrolled, as a full-time student in school will not be considered,
- Having required work experience and applying for Express Entry does not guarantee the selection; the preference will be given to the applicants with highest scores in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
