Federal Skilled Trades Program

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade. It is part of the Express Entry System. Eligible applicants must have at least 2 years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the 5 years before you applying

Skilled trades for the Federal Skilled Trades Program are organized under these groups of the National Occupational Classification (NOC):

• Industrial, electrical and construction trades
• Maintenance and equipment operation trades
• Supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production
• Processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
• Chefs and cooks
• Butchers and bakers

Minimum requirements

• A skilled worker can apply under this class for any province other than Quebec
• He or she must meet the required English or French language cut-offs
• He or she must possess minimum 24 months of skilled work experience
• The skill in question must be listed in the National Occupational Classification (NOC
• At least one-year full time employment from one or more employers in Canada or a Certificate of Qualification for that Skilled Trade, given by a Canadian Province or Territory

Application Process:

• Applicants must show interest to permanently immigrate to Canada.
• They must create an online Express Entry Profile
• They must receive an Invitation to Apply from the Canadian Government for Permanent Residency before they can apply under the Federal Skilled Trades Class

Occupation Categories

There are 90 NOC B level occupations which are eligible under this class of immigration.
Eligible occupations can be categorized as:
